Newcastle coach Mark Jones is delighted the Jets are killing giants but refuses to buy into premature talk about how much they can disrupt the A-Leagues natural order. It took Jones just two games and three weeks in the job to secure his first win at the helm of the Hunter-based club.He thought theyd done enough last weekend to take three points from defending champions Adelaide.Against a rudderless Brisbane on Sunday there was no stopping themFuelled by Luke DeVeres own goal, captain Nigel Boogaard, Steven Ugarkovic and Devante Clut added their names to the scoresheet in a 4-0 pasting that belied the Jets turbulent pre-season.The result lifted them to third place behind early title favourites Sydney FC and Melbourne City, an ascension that wont go unnoticed by rivals.Though Jones thought the win was magnificent he was reluctant to make any grand predictions with 25 rounds remaining, preferring to keep their heads down at training. Its a bit early for that sort of stuff, he said. But Im happy to be there - its bettter at the top than at the bottom.dddddddddddd.The win is confidence for the group.Theres lots of doubt being put in their minds over changes of coaches and everything thats gone on.But Ive never bought into that.Man of the match Andrew Nabbout as at the centre of everything, dictating play and terrorising the Roar with his swooping runs down the right flank.Hes always had potential, Jones said. Some of his touches were magnificent, his technique and ball control was first class.Jones was also pleased with the way his makeshift back four stood tall to keep a rare clean sheet.Youngsters Lachlan Jackson and Ivan Vujica were diligent and composed in place of injured duo Daniel Mullen (knee) and Jason Hoffman (calf).Hoffman is a chance of returning next weekend when the Jets hit the road for the first time to face Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium, but Mullen is sidelined indefinitely.
