LOS ANGELES -- The Tampa Bay Rays would like to end their West Coast swing on a high note. Theyve endured plenty of low blows during stops in Oakland and Los Angeles.Rays lefty Matt Moore (6-7, 4.31 ERA) will face Dodgers righty Brandon McCarthy (2-0, 1.61 ERA) as Tampa Bay tries to snap a four-game skid in the series finale between the two clubs on Wednesday.Tuesdays 3-2 defeat by the Dodgers was the latest setback in some close games. That loss comes on the heels of three consecutive ones to the As, two of those coming in walk-off fashion.Against the Dodgers, the Rays got a solid outing from Chris Archer. However, Yasmani Grandals solo home run in the seventh inning was the difference.(Grandal) has been unbelievable, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. Hes obviously swinging the bat a lot better. Hes having better at-bats. Again, the big homer tonight. And behind the plate hes been great.Grandals blast was one of the few blemishes on Archer, who Rays manager Kevin Cash believed had his best stuff. It was a good outing but we lost the game, so its hard to look at it from a personal standpoint on how well I did whenever theres some things I could have done better obviously, said Archer, who has gone six or more innings in 11 of his last 12 starts. I want to fill the strike zone but I want to win more. Thats the only thing Im really thinking about now.Yeah, I pitched well, and we played great baseball but I wish I could have done a little better to win.Los Angeles got a stronger performance from Norris, who blanked the Rays for 6 1/3 innings, striking out six and allowing just two hits with two walks (one intentional). Norris (6-9) also recorded his 1,000th strikeout during the win, striking out Kevin Kiermaier in the fourth. Its just a testament of how hard Ive worked in my career, and this isnt easy for any of us, I promise you, said Norris, who is 3-2 with a 4.40 ERA in six games with the Dodgers since coming over in a trade with the Atlanta Braves.Although the two clubs split a two-game series at Tropicana Field in Tampa on May 3-4, the Rays are still looking for their first win at Dodger Stadium. They were swept in a three-game set in August 2013, the only other time theyve played here. The Rays have played regular-season games in 41 parks, but Dodger Stadium is the only one theyve failed to capture a win. Overall, they are 4-8 all-time against Los Angeles. The Rays also have never homered here either. They might have trouble doing so against McCarthy, who has pitched well since returning from Tommy John surgery. McCarthy last faced the Rays on Sept. 17, 2014 as a member of the Yankees, allowing two runs on four hits in seven innings and earning the win in the Yankees 3-2 victory. He struck out four and walked one on 91 pitches. In 12 career appearances (11 starts) against Tampa Bay, McCarthy has a 2.88 ERA with 52 strikeouts against 19 walks.Moore has gone at least six innings in nine straight starts, the longest run of his career. However, he served up seven runs in 4 1/3 innings on May 3 in a 10-5 win by Los Angeles. Darcy Kuemper Jersey . Junior lightweight prospect Mario Barrios is a 21-year-old kid with a seemingly bright future in boxing and is about to have his most important fight, which also happens to be his first main event and first scheduled 12-round bout.Devis Boschiero is a 34-year-old veteran who has fought for a world title and in a title eliminator -- losing both times. Hes also the former European champion looking to stay in contention. They are two fighters who seem to be going in different directions as they get to set to fight in a world title elimination bout on Saturday night (ESPN and ESPN Deportes, 9 ET) in the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions card at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey. The winner of the fight will earn a No. 2 ranking in a sanctioning body and move a step closer to a mandatory title bout against 130-pound titleholder Jose Pedraza (22-0, 12 KOs).Unbeaten junior welterweight prospects Eddie Ramirez (13-0, 9 KOs), 23, of Chicago, and Jessie Roman (20-2, 9 KOs), 25, of Santa Ana, California, will meet in the scheduled 10-round co-feature.This is what Ive worked my whole life for, to be fighting in main events on national television, Barrios said. Im confident that Ill be able to go the full 12 rounds if need be. My goal is to get the knockout, though. I really want to make a statement in this fight.Im very happy to be fighting on ESPN during prime time on Saturday night. I have a lot of family, friends and fans back home wholl be tuning in. I just want to go out there and shine. I feel my style is explosive for television, and I hope everyone enjoys what I bring to the table. Everyone will see a determined fighter in myself, whos going to leavve everything in the ring.ddddddddddddPotential title fight aside, this fight is really about seeing whether San Antonios Barrios (15-0, 8 KOs) is more steak than sizzle as he meets Italys Boschiero (39-4-1, 21 KOs), who is two wins removed from a sixth-round knockout loss to Stephen Smith in a previous junior lightweight title eliminator this past September.Barrios said he knows very little about Boschiero, who will be making his United States debut. All of his fights have been in Italy except his four losses -- two European title bouts in France; the loss to Smith, which was in England; and a split-decision loss to then-junior lightweight world titleholder Takahiro Ao in Japan in 2011.All I know about Boschiero is that hes got a lot of fights and hes a top contender, Barrios said. I know hes hungry, so Im not taking him lightly. Ive seen some tape on him, and I know he likes to come forward. Everyone can expect to see a lot of hard punches being thrown by both of us. Im expecting a war.Barrios knows that a win, especially an impressive one on national television, will be a big boost for him in a hot weight class. Its a very tough division loaded with a lot of great fighters, Barrios said. I would say [titleholders Vasyl] Lomachenko, Pedraza and [Francisco] Vargas are the top dogs for now. [Orlando] Salido is also up there. Its one of the toughest divisions in boxing.Im hoping I can become a champion in this division. A victory against Boschiero puts me right there to challenge for the title. Im a hungry fighter, and everyone will see that. ' ' '
