OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson erupted for a career-high 60 points in a 142-106 win over the Indiana Pacers?on Monday night.?The Warriors were up 114-79 with 1:22 left in the third quarter when Thompson departed. His stat line was 21-for-33 from the field, 8-for-14 from 3-point range and 10-for-11 from the free throw line in 29 minutes.Indiana as a team converted only 26 field goals at the end of three quarters at Oracle Arena.I felt like every shot I took was a good shot, Thompson said. Its the way I was playing off of my teammates, too. Its easy to get open looks when youre running off Zaza [Pachulia] and Draymond [Green] all night, and I think it started for me when I got a few layups in the beginning. That always opens up my game, and whenever Im active off the ball, thats when Im at my best.Thompson is the first player in the shot-clock era to score 60 points with fewer than 30 minutes played.Thats a feat that Id put money on to probably never be touched ever again in the history of basketball, teammate Stephen Curry said. Its unbelievable.Thompsons 60 points were the most through three quarters since Kobe Bryant scored 62 in a December 2005 game.Thompsons previous career high was 52 points last season against the Kings, a contest in which he produced an NBA-record 37 third-quarter points while sitting out the fourth due to a rout. After Mondays game, he was asked if he begged coach Steve Kerr to put him back in during fourth-quarter play.I didnt, but its just unfortunate the two times I got my career high, I didnt even play in the fourth quarter, Thompson said in jest. We should keep these games closer next time. But its all good. The sharpshooter scored 40 of his points in the first half, the first player with a 40-point first half since Bryant had 42 points against the Washington Wizards on March 28, 2003.Thompson, 26, also was the first player to score 40 points in any half since Chicago Bulls forward Jimmy Butler registered 40 in the second half on Jan. 3, 2016, at Toronto. And to put his night into perspective, Thompson registered the first 60-point game for the franchise since Rick Barry scored 64 points on March 26, 1974, versus the Portland Trail Blazers.Thompson moving without the ball all evening made life miserable for the Pacers.I dont even know what to say, Kevin Durant said. It was crazy because he probably has the ball in his hand for probably not even two minutes in the whole game. He was catching, shooting, cutting.Thompson said that had he been allowed to sub in one more time, 80 points wasnt out of reach.Maybe. I think I could have, Thompson said. Maybe one day Ill have the opportunity, but 60 in 29 minutes is not too bad. Im satisfied with that.Fans chanted Klay, Klay, Klay during moments when there were breaks in the action. When he departed the game, fans gave him a standing ovation. That was a pretty amazing performance, Kerr said. We know hes capable of that. Everybody around here remembers his 37-point quarter, so it always feels like its a possibility [he can go off].Ultra Boost Wholesale . -- Kyrie Irvings last-minute 3-pointer helped seal another victory for Cleveland -- and the Cavaliers longest winning streak since LeBron James left. Jefferson will make $13.5 million in each year of the deal, with the third season being a player option. The people spoke to The Associated Press on Thursday on condition of anonymity because the deal hasnt become official. The contract cannot be signed until July 10 when the NBAs moratorium on signing new deals is lifted. Jefferson, 28, gives the Bobcats a much-needed scoring threat in the low post, where they struggled last season. He should also help on the boards, where the Bobcats were repeatedly outrebounded the last two seasons. The 6-foot-10, 289-pound Jefferson has averaged 18.8 points and 10 rebounds per game over the last seven seasons. Last season, his third with the Jazz, he averaged 17.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists. The Boston Celtics selected Jefferson out of high school in Mississippi with the No. 15 pick in the 2004 draft. During a nine-year NBA career, Jefferson also played two seasons for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He has career averages of 16.4 points, 9 rebounds and 1.5 assists. Jefferson was among four high-profile free agents who played last season with the Jazz, along with Paul Millsap, Mo Williams and Randy Foye. Utah went 43-39 and missed the playoffs for the second time in three years. Acquired by the Jazz in a July 2010 trade, Jefferson earned $15 million last season and led the team in both scoring and rebounding. After the 2012-13 season ended, Jefferson told reporters he believed he improved his overall game while in UUtah.dddddddddddd "I have showed Im not just the black hole reputation I had years ago," Jefferson said in April of never passing the ball back out of the post. "I showed people that I can do other things." In April, Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin praised Jefferson for his contributions in Utah. "I think hes done a great job, coming in, being known as an offensive player, getting numbers," Corbin said. "And hes gotten numbers here, but theyve helped us win a lot of games. Hes been healthy. Hes always ready and willing to play and likes to be on the floor and I think hes been a great guy with this team of guys." Jefferson, who was given credit for helping develop young players Derrick Favours and Enes Kanter, said then that it was emotional to say goodbye to his Jazz teammates at the abrupt end of the season. The Jazz finished just out of the playoffs in ninth place in the Western Conference. "Theres no way in the world every one of these guys will be here next year, all together," Jefferson said. Jefferson becomes the best low post scoring threat the Bobcats have had in nine years in the NBA. Last year, the Bobcats started a combination of Brendan Haywood, Byron Mullens, Bismack Biyombo and Josh McRoberts at centre. Gana Diop, their other big man, rarely played. Jefferson was ranked as the third-best centre on the free agent market by CBSSports.com behind Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum. He joins a Bobcats team in dire need of star players. The Bobcats are just 28-120 over the past two seasons, and their biggest high-profile player is second-year point guard Kemba Walker. ' ' '
