Top to bottom, Sundays pitching is among the top slates weve encountered all season. There isnt a single gas can on the card, and that includes a Coors Field affair. Days such as this are more dependent upon matchup data than usual to find edges, and theres good news: Youve come to the right place for matchup analysis. Heres what you need to tackle an intriguing Sunday schedule.PitchingEliteIn a season replete with pitching injuries and disappointments, there has been one constant:?Madison Bumgarner is really good at throwing a baseball. The stud lefty is tasked with keeping a potent Washington Nationals team in check on Sunday. The NL East leaders check in with a hefty 0.350 weighted on-base average (wOBA) vs. lefties, in tandem with an average strikeout rate in this scenario. Bumgarner is always in play for cash, as he routinely goes deep into games with ample whiffs. This tilt at Nationals Park does not, however, lend Bumgarner sufficient enough upside to warrant using him for GPP action at his elevated cost.Jacob deGrom also draws a difficult road foe, as the New York Mets wrap up an interleague set at Comerica Park against the Detroit Tigers. Short and sweet: If youre paying up for a cash anchor, there are several better options. An argument can be made that theres enough swing-and-miss in the hosts lineup to use deGrom as a contrarian GPP option, but again, there are more cost-efficient candidates.Carlos Carrasco checks in as the final elite option, and like his counterparts, hell be wearing his traveling uniform, as the Cleveland Indians play the finale of a weekend set in the Bronx. The New York Yankees lineup wasnt all that daunting to begin with, but now, without Carlos Beltran, the team will really struggle to score runs. In what lines up as an early theme, Carrasco is better for DFS cash action, as the Yankees dont whiff much.SolidGerrit Cole is on the fringe of elite status, with a drop in strikeout rate keeping the Pittsburgh Pirates righty from a higher projected Game Score. Curiously, Coles punchout high on the season is a modest seven. The current Cincinnati Reds lineup, without Jay Bruce and with Scott Schebler, avails Cole a platform to set a new season high, which puts him in consideration for GPP tournaments, along with his status as a safe play for cash games.Given that several cash options have been highlighted already, lets jump down the rankings to find a few more tournament selections. Jared Eickhoff takes the hill at Petco Park to face one of the easiest teams for right-handers to fan, the San Diego Padres. Eickhoffs whiff rate has slipped a bit as the season has progressed, but when his curveball is snapping, hes capable of missing a lot of bats.Yu Darvish has quietly pitched very well since he came back from Tommy John surgery. In his past three outings (spanning 18 1/3 innings), the Texas Rangers righty fanned a whopping 26 with just two free passes. He has, however, surrendered five long balls, which is where the intrigue comes in. Next up for Darvish are the Houston Astros?at Minute Maid Park. In facing a club that has been in a bit of an offensive rut -- the team sports a 24 percent strikeout rate against righties -- Darvish could be the top GPP play of the day.Dylan Bundy is making the Baltimore Orioles brass look like geniuses for moving him into the rotation, as he has responded with 17 2/3 innings of eight-hit, three-earned run ball in his three starts. Better yet, the 23-year-old right-hander fanned 20 while walking only two. Bundy is set up for a fourth straight strong effort when he challenges the Chicago White Sox?at U.S. Cellular Field. Add Bundy to list of GPP options. As mentioned in the lead, this ledger is loaded with solid arms, so weve identified those that stand out for DFS deployment. If youre considering a different option and want another point of view, please take advantage of the comments section below or fire a Tweet to @ToddZola.StreamersExactly half the 30 scheduled starters fall in the streaming range, with only two of them possessing ESPN ownership levels of greater than 50 percent, which leaves 13 possible streamers. Here are the better options. As has been discussed a few times in this space, Jimmy Nelsons 2016 has to be considered a disappointment. It hasnt been a disaster, as his future still looks solid, but so far in this campaign, Nelson is fanning fewer and walking more than expected. Hes in a good spot to chalk up a few extra punchouts Sunday, as he faces an Arizona Diamondbacks lineup thats susceptible to right-handers. Theres some risk to your ratios to consider, but if you need to make up ground in the strikeout department, Nelson is in play.Speaking of added strikeout potential, the normally pedestrian Kyle Gibson is in line for a few extra strike threes, as he faces the Tampa Bay Rays?at Tropicana Field. Theres less risk to the ratio stats with Gibson, and hes supported by a surging offense facing Matt Andriese. This puts Gibson in the mix for DFS GPP tournaments as well.Another combination streamer/GPP candidate is Archie Bradley, as the Arizona Diamondbacks righty takes the hill at Chase Field against the Milwaukee Brewers, who tote the leagues worst strikeout rate against righties. There is some risk in play, but because Yordano Ventura has done a decent job of limiting homers at home, hes in play with a date against the Toronto Blue Jays?at Kauffman Stadium. The Blue Jays are among the league leaders with respect to runs scored via the home run, so if the Kansas City right-hander can keep the ball in the yard, he can take advantage of the visitors high strikeout rate.Sean Manaea takes on a Chicago Cubs club that has hit only two homers off a southpaw since July 19, and though they get to use a designated hitter, O.co Coliseum crushes power. Manaea has had issues with dingers, so this could be a stealth matchup for streaming in both traditional leagues and DFS.AvoidThere isnt a single starter who recorded a Game Score of 45. Matt Wisler gets a reprieve from the automatic avoid tier, as his main issue is getting lefty swingers out and the St. Louis Cardinals better hitters step up to the right side of the plate. Still, there are ample lefties along with the usual dangerous righties to suggest sitting Wisler if your ratios are tight.HittingSometimes platoon splits are overplayed when identifying favorable hitting spots as, more often than not, talent on either end of the equation dictates whether the pitcher or hitter has the advantage. Sunday is one of those days when you need to find edges on the extremes, so handedness is quite important.Archie Bradley has been brutal against lefty swingers, as evidenced by a 0.944 OPS in that scenario. The Milwaukee Brewers cant parade too many hitters into the left-handed batters box, but Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Scooter Gennett are cheaper options who can help support a DFS lineup.Similarly, Bradleys mound foe, Jimmy Nelson, carries a rather high 0.795 OPS against lefties, which puts Arizona Diamondbacks Jake Lamb, David Peralta and Michael Bourn in play. Spoiler alert: Bourns potential is aided by the fact that Nelson is also very easy to run on.Miami Marlins southpaw Adam Conley is tough on lefties, which is why he isnt an automatic avoid at Coors Field. The right-handed contingent of the Colorado Rockies is, of course, in play, led by Nolan Arenado. Joining the?All-Star third baseman are DJ LeMahieu and Mark Reynolds. With Wislers issues against lefties, which we cited earlier, St. Louis Cardinals Matt Carpenter, Brandon Moss and Greg Garcia are in great spots for this Busch Stadium affair. If theyre playing, add Jeremy Hazelbaker and Matt Adams to the list. Most likely to leave the yard: Moss is picking up where he left off after coming off the disabled list, and that means raking against righties. Look for him to take Wisler deep. Most likely to steal a base: As alluded to earlier, Bourn is in a great spot with Nelson on the hill, so look for the veteran to get his 33-year-old wheels in motion in the desert.Air Max 90 Essential Pas Cher .
