ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Once he got rolling, Felix Hernandez had little trouble with the reeling Los Angeles Angels -- except Mike Trout.Nelson Cruz hit his 30th home run to lead Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners past Los Angeles 3-2 on Monday night as the Angels matched a franchise record with their 11th consecutive defeat.Hernandez (7-4) struck out eight and pitched into the seventh inning to earn his 150th win and help the Mariners remain two games behind Boston for the second AL wild card.King Felix has 328 career strikeouts against Los Angeles, surpassing Roger Clemens for the most of any pitcher vs. the Angels.Felix was really great tonight again, Mariners manager Scott Servais said. Started to get some rhythm going tonight again, good changeup tonight, some strikeouts, a few extra walks, but he hung in there and gave us a great effort.Hernandez gave up two runs in 6 2/3 innings. Feeling as though he had little command after giving up early walks and a run in the second inning, Hernandez found his grove. He struck out six straight before yielding a home run to Trout.Trouts seven home runs off Hernandez are the most by any player in baseball.I was trying to strike out Trout, too, but I left that pitch up, Hernandez said. Hes my nightmare. Hes got my number. The Angels had lost 11 straight on three other occasions, but never under manager Mike Scioscia. Last in the AL West, Los Angeles (49-69) is a season-high 20 games under .500.The last time the team dropped 11 in a row was during the 1999 season.I dont know if were looking for a spark or if were looking to grind it out, play our own offense and create or own breaks, Scioscia said. Right now, were just not getting enough done, but we will turn this around and we will play better.Cruz drove Ricky Nolascos 2-2 curveball into the left-field stands in the fifth to become the sixth player in Mariners history with multiple 30-homer seasons. Its the fourth consecutive season Cruz has hit 30 or more.He threw me the first pitch similar, it was a curveball high and I thought it was a ball and was like, `Wow a strike? Cruz said. Then later, he threw me another big, looping curveball.Trout also stole his 20th base, marking the third time hes reached 20 home runs and 20 steals in a season. He became the seventh player in major league history with three 20-20 seasons and is the only one still active, now that Alex Rodriguez was released by the Yankees.Trout belted his 23rd homer in the fifth, making the score 3-2.Nolasco (4-10) issued walks to Cruz and Kyle Seager in the fourth before Adam Lind singled home Cruz, and Mike Zunino singled in Seager. Cruzs fifth-inning homer put Seattle up 3-1.With one on and two outs and the Mariners hanging onto a 3-2 lead in the seventh, Seager hit a deep liner to right field, but Kole Calhoun went over the fence and into the stands to make the catch and end the inning.Edwin Diaz earned the save with a perfect ninth inning. Hes converted all seven save opportunities since moving into the closer role on Aug. 2.The Angels scored in the first when Nick Buss hit an opposite-field double to drive in Cliff Pennington with two outs.TRAINERS ROOMMariners: LHP James Paxton is still dealing with lingering effects from taking a line drive off his forearm in his last outing. The bruised forearm will force Paxton to skip his turn in the rotation Tuesday and might land him on the 15-day disabled list.Angels: RHP Garrett Richards was cleared to play catch for the first time since tearing his ulnar collateral ligament on May 6. Richards threw 25 pitches from 45 feet and will continue with the regimen until the end of the season.UP NEXTMariners: LHP Ariel Miranda (1-0, 6.00 ERA) will start in place of Paxton on Tuesday. Miranda, acquired from Baltimore for Wade Miley at the trade deadline, will make his fifth major league start and third for the Mariners.Angels: RHP Jhoulys Chacin (2-6, 6.00) will make his second start since returning to the rotation after a stint in the bullpen. Chacin took the spot held by Tim Lincecum after he was designated for assignment.Lance Lynn Jersey . Just not the game. Kyle Palmieri scored two straight goals in the third period to rally the Anaheim Ducks past the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 on Tuesday night. Kolby Allard Rangers Jersey . That gave fans outside Joe Louis Arena another chance to ask for autographs from the 19-year-old whose stardom in the NHL has arrived earlier than most expected. https://www.cheaprangersbaseball.com/612h-jeff-russell-jersey-rangers.html . LOUIS -- St. Scott Heineman Rangers Jersey .ca NFL Power Rankings, overtaking the Denver Broncos and remaining ahead of NFC competition San Francisco, Carolina and New Orleans. Frank Howard Jersey . The 29-year-old Baines has established himself as one of the top attacking full backs in the country and was the subject of two bids from United during the last off-season. Everton manager Roberto Martinez says that keeping Baines at the club is a "massive boost and exciting for the future" because he brings "maturity and football knowledge in a very specialized position on the pitch" and an "infectious and positive influence to the rest of the squad.Jacquizz Rodgers continued to dominate in Doug Martins absence, Matt Forte proved his doubters wrong, and Jay Ajayi ran his way into the NFL record books. Fantasy owners have some new names (Russell Shepard) to learn, as well as some old names (Cordarrelle Patterson) to ponder. And, naturally, some poor performances (DeVante Parker, Blake Bortles) that may have droppable consequences. But three injuries to running backs may have the biggest impact going forward.---THE INJURY REPORTThe most significant injury in Week 7 was LeSean McCoys aggravation of his balky hamstring. There was plenty of talk last week about not playing McCoy and letting the injury heal, but he started after some favorable pregame warmups ... and promptly got hurt again. McCoys situation should become clearer as the week goes by, but it wouldnt be surprising if the Bills sit him out for multiple weeks until hes fully healed.Tevin Coleman left the game Sunday against the Chargers with a hamstring injury and didnt return. And Jeremy Hill had a chest injury (which popped up a couple weeks ago) that could turn out to be more serious than initially thought as the week goes by. Devonta Freeman and Gio Bernard owners should keep close eyes on their timeshare counterparts.---AJAYI DAZZLES AGAINWhat Ajayi has done in the last two weeks -- 207 total yards in Week 6 and 216 total yards in Week 7 -- hasnt just been amazing, but also wholly unexpected. The Steelers and Bills run defenses arent bad, so Ajayi wouldnt have been singled out for great games; in fact, the Bills had only allowed one 100-yard rusher (Matt Forte in Week 2) in the first six weeks.Much of Ajayis success can be traced to his offensive line finally reaching full health and strength last week, which has stemmed Ryan Tannehill sack issues (hes been sacked once in the last two games) and allowed Ajayi to find holes and break free. Naturally, a momentum-killing bye is on tap for Week 8, and Ajayi then comes back to games against the Jets and Chargers, who have been fairly effective at stopping the run this season. But does that matter at this point?---MARQISE LEE IS NOW FANTASY RELEVANTJacksonville wideout Marqise Lee caught seven of eight targets for a career-high 107 yards on Sunday, improving upon his six-reception, 61-yard game in Week 7. Lee is averaging 6.8 targgets over his last five games and is one of the few bright spots on a Jaguars team in fantasy disarray.ddddddddddddhe 2012 Biletnikoff award winner, Lee was a 2014 second-round pick of the Jaguars, but has battled injuries for most of his NFL career. His recent performance, though, suggests he has solid rapport with Blake Bortles and is capable of making big plays when healthy. Owned in just two percent of CBSSports.com leagues, Lee should be one of the most-added players in fantasy heading into Week 8.---MISCELLANEOUS- Cordarrelle Pattersons stock is rising. On Sunday, he caught all seven of his targets for 67 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles -- his second straight week with a touchdown. Non-believers will say the score came in garbage time, but Patterson now has six or more targets in three straight games and gets a Week 8 date with the Bears, who have given up 235 or more yards to the oppositions wide receivers in their last three games. With six teams on bye next week, Patterson should warrant flex consideration in deeper point-per-reception formats.- Allen Robinson caught just two passes for nine yards -- off eight targets -- in Sundays loss to the Raiders. Robinson hasnt gone over 72 receiving yards in any game this season and has seen a decrease in receiving yards in each of the last four weeks. Hes in a no mans land of value -- Robinsons owners would be selling him too low, and his buyers would be inheriting serious risk. A buy-low trade offer would be worth exploring for an owner sitting at 4-3 or lower.- Latavius Murray returned from missing two weeks with turf toe to run 18 times for 59 yards and two touchdowns (while catching two passes for four yards). The DeAndre Washington/Jalen Richard rotation seems to be over now, and it looks like Murray may have re-claimed his role as the lead back for the 5-2 Raiders.- The Ravens, Rams, Dolphins, Giants, Steelers, and 49ers are on bye this week. And theres another game in London, meaning a 9:30 a.m. Eastern start on Sunday.---This column was provided to The Associated Press by the Fantasy Sports Network, http://FNTSY.com---This story has been corrected to show that the Raiders are 5-2 on the season.
