FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Quincy Enunwa will leave the labels to everyone else.Hes listed as the New York Jets No. 3 wide receiver, but is considered by many as more of a tight end. Or, even an H-back.The answer is simple, as far as Enunwa is concerned.Im a playmaker, I guess, he said with a big smile Thursday.Through two games, Enunwa is leading the Jets with 13 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown. And thats for a team that also has wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, and running back Matt Forte in the mix.It feels pretty good right now, Enunwa said of his strong start. I dont want to get too high. Its only been two weeks. But he has gone from being perhaps an afterthought by many fans to one of the most-added players in fantasy football circles this week after a career-high 92 yards on six catches against Buffalo last week. And, if Marshall is unable to play Sunday at Kansas City with knee and foot ailments, Enunwa could be in line for even more action -- on the field and in online leagues.I hate that, a smiling Enunwa said of all the talk about his fantasy value.I mean, its cool because it has more people following me, so more people want to see, `OK, hows Quincy going to do this week? At the same time, these arent fans. So, the minute I dont have enough points for their fantasy (team), then Ill hear that. Thats almost like, OK, well, Im blocking you.The fact Enunwa is even factoring prominently in the fantasy football conversation is a bit of an early season surprise. What hes doing on the field -- in reality -- is less stunning to the guys who play with him.I think a lot of it for him, hes come a long way as a receiver, is his confidence, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said.He wants the ball. Hes getting open. Hes making tough, contested catches. A lot of it is just his mental state, how confident he is as a football player right now.Enunwa was a sixth-round draft pick out of Nebraska in 2014 and spent most of his rookie season on the Jets practice squad before a late-season promotion.Up until that point, his NFL career had been notable mainly for his arrest for domestic violence simple assault in October 2014 -- charges that were later dropped. As a result, he was suspended by the NFL for four games last season for violating the leagues personal conduct policy, but came back in Week 11 as a consistent contributor the rest of the season.Enunwa finished with 22 catches for 315 yards, starting six games while establishing himself as a strong blocker in the run game.Whether it be in the run game or the pass game, thats what I want to be, he said. I dont want to go out there and be like, `Oh, man, Im the No. 3 receiver. Im a guy whos going to go out there and just do my job. Thats it. I dont want to do more than my job.He approached the offseason with a renewed sense of dedication, working on all aspects of the game and wanting to make an even bigger impact on the offense.Offensive coordinator Chan Gailey said Enunwa has improved his route running, his hands and expanding his knowledge of the offense. Coach Todd Bowles said Enunwas offseason work ethic was better.Just being able to know what Im supposed to do, Year 2 in the offense, I dont have to worry about, `OK, what am I supposed to do on this play? Whats going to happen on this play? Enunwa said. Now, its more so, `Whats the defense doing? OK, now react. Dont think, just react.Working closely with Fitzpatrick last season and throughout the offseason workouts has also helped. It hasnt just been good for him, its been great for our offense, Fitzpatrick said. We feed off of his confidence and how physical he is and the different plays that hes made in the first two games. At 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, Enunwa is an imposing figure who looks the part of a bruising tight end -- or a linebacker. Against smaller defensive backs he can use his size and strength to get to passes and bust through tackle attempts.Whether its lined up on the outside, in the slot or on the line of scrimmage, Enunwa has been able to make a difference so far for the Jets.Hes worked very hard to get where he is at this point, Gailey said, and I think hell do well with whatever role we have him in.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFLRyan Helsley . But the quarterback hopes to stay involved in football after officially calling it quits Tuesday. "Id love to look at those opportunities as they arise," Pierce said in an interview from his Winnipeg eatery. Tony La Russa .500 on the season. The Jets are now 0-5-1 in the second game of back-to-backs. The game started the same way the Vancouver game started the night before, with the Jets taking the first two penalties of the game and killing off the first, but the Oilers getting on the board first, scoring on the second man-advantage. http://www.custommlbcardinalsjersey.com/custom-tyler-webb-jersey-large-1011q.html . CHICAGO -- Star closer Aroldis Chapman joined the Cubs on Tuesday, arriving to a mixed reaction in Chicago and saying he couldnt remember what management told him about off-field expectations and behavior. After Chapmans awkward introductory news conference, Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein insisted Chapman understands what the Cubs expect of him after an offseason domestic violence incident. When the Cubs announced the trade with the New York Yankees on Monday, the team released a statement from Chairman Tom Ricketts saying they were aware of his 29-game suspension to begin the season under Major League Baseballs new domestic violence policy.Ricketts said he and Epstein talked by phone with Chapman before the deal was completed and shared with him the high expectations we set for our players, adding that Chapman was comfortable with them. But when asked repeatedly about that phone conversation before Tuesdays game against the crosstown White Sox, Chapman said through an interpreter that he couldnt recall details because he was taking a nap at the time the call came in.The question was asked several more times. A Cubs spokesman once asked the question himself to the interpreter, coach Henry Blanco. Its been a long day, Chapman said. Trying to remember.Asked again several minutes later during the group interview if he could now remember what Ricketts said, Chapman shook his head.I still dont remember, he said in Spanish.Epstein called it a misunderstanding and that Chapman was pretty nervous as he faced seven cameras and more than two dozen reporters.I was on the call, Tom was on the call, Aroldis was on the call and Barry Praver, his agent, was on the call. It happened and it was real, Epstein said before the Cubs 3-0 loss to the White Sox.Chapman was accused of choking his girlfriend and firing eight gunshots in the garage of a Florida home in October. The woman later changed her story and no charges were filed. You learn from the mistakes that you make, Chapman said. The case caused the Los Angeles Dodgers to back out of an offseason trade for Chapman. Cincinnati eventually traded him to the Yankees, and after his suspension, the 28-year-old Cuban converted 20 of 21 save chances for New York. The Cubs have long boasted of stocking their roster with hhigh-character players, helping earn the lovable losers label theyve carried for decades since their last World Series title in 1908.dddddddddddd.But the Cubs (59-40) have retooled their roster under Epstein and have the best record in the major leagues despite Tuesdays loss in which Chapman didnt pitch. Chapman, who threw a 105 mph fastball last week, fills perhaps the teams largest hole as he replaces Hector Rondon as closer. The Cubs sent four players to the Yankees, including shortstop prospect Gleyber Torres, to get one of the games top relievers. Epstein said they wouldnt have made the deal if not for the phone call he and Ricketts had with Chapman.Tom laid out the exact same standards that he lays out to everyone in spring training, Epstein said. He said, extremely clearly, `Look, Aroldis, I tell all the players this in spring training and its important you hear it and I need to hear from you on this. We expect our players to behave. We hold our players to a very high standard for their behavior off the field. And we need to know you can meet that standard.Aroldis said `I understand. Absolutely, I can.The Cubs activated Chapman before Tuesdays game and designated left-hander Clayton Richard for assignment.Reaction to Chapmans acquisition in Chicago has been tepid. While there were supportive fans on talk radio, the Chicago Tribune carried a front-page column Tuesday criticizing the move. The back of the Chicago Sun-Times tabloid read Spin City over a picture of Epstein.Chapman said he expected a good reaction from Cubs fans. He was also asked during the 20-minute meeting with reporters in the visiting dugout at U.S. Cellular Field if we would consider working with organizations looking to prevent domestic violence. Chapman said no.Cubs manager Joe Maddon defended Chapman. He did do a suspension, he has talked about it, hes shown remorse, Maddon said. Everybody else has the right to judge him as a good or bad person. Thats your right.I want to get to know Aroldis. I think he could be a very significant member and hes got the potential, yes, to throw the last out of the World Series. And if he does, I promise you I will embrace him. ' ' '
